Matt Hubbard Trio

Born in Michigan, Matt Hubbard was surrounded by music from an early age. After studying at Oberlin Conservatory he moved to Austin, Texas in 1994. Matt has since worked as a multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, composer and producer with artists including Willie Nelson, Wanda Jackson, Ray Price, Rickie Lee Jones, Fastball and many others. Grateful Dead drummer Billy Kreuztmann, Meters bassist George Porter Jr., guitarist Papa Mali and Matt have performed as jam band supergroup 7 Walkers since 2009. He currently performs and records with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians as well as his own Matt Hubbard Trio, which the Austin Chronicle describes as "back-alley beatnik blues."

Acoustic piano, sparse instrumentation and an old-school vibe embody Matt new solo album "Nobody's Fault but Mine." His first foray into gospel music, the record includes fresh interpretations of classic spirituals as well as his new song "Lift Me Up" featuring legend Willie Nelson.
